7mm-08 or just download the .270?

I have a 280 and a 7mm express, both rifles are almost identical and both have the same scopes installed on them. I prefer the 280 for two reasons, I have a helluva time with metric for one and for 2 none of you younger generations knows what the hell a 7mm express is............

When it comes time to part with one of the above I might start a poll to see what the general consenses is............the remington 700 or the remington 700........bdl versus adl?????
 
Had a 270 - worked great.

Now have a downloaded 7-08 (154gr SST going approx 2600fps). shorter, more compact, lighter rifle. Quicker to cycle. Very comfy recoil. Did a great job on deer this year.

Still has plenty of reach for any hunting I am likely to do while on foot.

Have also had a variety of other mid size cases but I like the simplicity of the 7-08

I've got a 270 and a 7x57 Mauser.

What's the big difference?

My particular 7x57 rifle happens to be lighter and easier to carry than the 270.

My 270 happens to be more accurate right now because I haven't found the perfect load for the 7x57 yet.

Both kill things.
 
Sawzall... both the 30-06 and and 270 are based off the 30-03, however the 270 having the same shoulder as the 30-06 and appearing later than the 30-06 would place it as being more derived from the 30-06 than the 30-03, besides that, having reloaded both, the case length difference is far less than you claim. Just measure a couple of spent factory cases.
 
LOL...must have wasted my money cuz I have both the .270 and 7-08. I like the 7-08 more, no reason just do.
Although one advantage to the 270 is you can get ammo pretty much anywhere.
