Just picked up a 100 ct box of 140 Berger VLD Hunting bullets for my 7mm-08 remington and I'm looking for load info. to go with Varget, IMR-4350, IMR-4895, and H4350 powders (that's what I have on hand).
I sent an email into Berger but haven't heard back yet and was hoping to get started...any info. would be appreciated.

This is what Berger sent me when I asked.

Thanks Hunter5425, the info. is much appreciated. If I want them to feed through my mag well I have to set the COAL at 2.831 which puts it at .054 jump to the lands...hoping this will work?

I have had best accuracy with H4350 , W760 for velocity.Of course your results may vary.

Both of these powders put the load at around full load densities (46 gr.) ...I've found this normally gives the best results. What was the load amount in both?

I put a Wyatt extended length magazine ( 2.995" max COAL) in my wife's 7-08 so it could use longer bullets like VLD's but it's not a drop in.

My loads are almost below book minimum. I have a 26" barrel and custom chamber on my most recent rifle.

My previous 7-08 was using max load of W760 on a 22" barrel and getting 2860 ft/sec.

I checked on the wyatt mag box and it is definately something that a smith wound have to do...if I take it in for that I'm thinking maybe getting it reamed out to an Ackley improved. Anyone have any experience with a 7-08 AI? Looks to be about a 6% increase in velocity.

'nuff said. lots of data for bullets in the 139-140 range.

I settled on R17 and 4007 with 140 NAB(R17 best accuracy and velocity (2850)), started at 44 and worked up to find what the gun liked... originally loaded to 2.84"col, however the biggest change in accuracy was when I went to 2.80"col - yes, shorter- then the groups shrunk in half... go figure!
My gun didn't like h4350 or varget as much...
I suspect the Tikka barrel is reamed to accept shorter rounds, as their mag length is max'd at 2.82. Tried shortening OAL in the other calibers i have in the Tikkas, and the accuracy also improved, as did the signs of pressure

Thanks for your response, I was reading about shortening the COAL by upto .120 jump to see what shoots the best on bergers site.
Also recieved an email from Berger this morning with load data for 140, 168, and 180 bullets.
