7mm-08 vs .280 vs 7mm WSM

I like the oddballs so for me its the 7mm SAUM. 280AI in a short action.

Really ? 7mm SAUM is my current work in progress in trying to find what it likes.
After a couple trips to the range with the SAUM, I sold my 280 AI.
Still have a couple 280s though...

I like the 7mm bores, but at present have only 2.
A 700 "Classic" in 7x57 which will cloverleaf 3 - 140 AB's when they are chased by a healthy dose of RL17
A 700 Stainless synthetic in 7SAUM, which does the same with 160 AB's chased by H4831.
Life is good! These both are going hunting in a week or so, along with my 700 in 260 Rem/125 partitions.

Sorry folks but it had to be done!!! 7mm stuff just carries more class!

I am more of a 7mm type guy anyways!

All three will work the the same in normal game getting conditions in my opinion.

7mm-08; .280 or 7mm WSM?

If I was ever going to venture into the WSM's the 7mm WSM seems the most interesting to me. Although, it's kinda fallen by the wayside.

Of the three choices, the 7mm-08 is what I'd go with. Have had and still have a couple rifles in this ctg. Love it.

I have just one 7mm, a .280 Remington. It's been my go-to rifle for 20 years. Accurate as all heck, kills stuff dead.
If I had to replace that rifle with one of the other two choices, it'd be the 7mm-08; I am a bit recoil sensitive, don't hunt anything bigger than moose, and haven't ever shot a game animal past 175 yards.

I've had my 7mm-08 since the early 80's (Rem 788 carbine). I use lots of rifles, but that one is my "go to" gun for pretty much anything I still hunt. It really is a great all around caliber. - dan
