Nice moose John. What was the range it was shot at?
I highly doubt they got him at the range.![]()
I was at the range one day with my 375 and looked over my shoulder to see a small bull meandering into the woods. Seen deer and pheasant there as well.
One never knows when a moose goes full stupid! It is October after all!I highly doubt they got him at the range.![]()

I find it funny how many guys on here are like "wife loves the 7mm-08" or "my kid really likes her 7mm-08". Now I'm sure that some of that is legit (Clay, you sound legit buddy... anyone posting sighting in data is most likely a dude) But the amount of insecurity about this caliber is hilarious!
Never had an issue with recoil... what have I just ordered? Yup a 7mm-08. Even though the ammo is more than 30-06, 308, or 270. I went with it because it is the perfect deer and black bear rifle, by all accounts that is. The goldilocks round.
Maybe it is because I am a craftsman, and using the right tool for the job is part of the trade. You don't drive finishing nails with a framing hammer.
When we began researching the youth/compact rifles almost all of them came in 7mm 08 and other calibres as well with 7mm 08 being very popular for the performance and low recoil.
This would explain the high number of 7mm 08/small stature people comments.
The 18 inch barrel has a nasty bark lol, luv it.
My wife took a buck opening morning, 220 yards ran 40 yards and died. /QUOTE]
My most sincere condolences about your wife man. There are no words for a tragedy like that.
