7mm-08 ..... your favourite choice and why

I have a Tikka M595 stainless/synthetic, the short-action precursor to the T3. Love it.

It mounts a Leupold 6x42 with Heavy Duplex Reticle in Optilock ringmounts. It loves either a 120 gr Barnes TTSX at 3120 fps or a 140 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip at just over 2900 fps, both over maximum charges of Ramshot Big Game.

I'm the happy owner of a Savage 11 Lightweight Hunter. Topped with a Nikon Monarch3 2-8x32 , it weights only 7 lbs. It shoots well under the MOA at .555 . :)

I got a Ruger American stainless Compact in 7mm-08 for my son last Christmas...with the reduced recoil ammo it has very light recoil and will work just fine for deer out to 200 yards. With regular Nosler Accubonds it'll be a lightweight all weather mountain rifle that can handle anything in North America with antlers. Price was right, and it shoots one moa...

I'm into my 3rd 7mm08. If I didn't reload I probably wouldn't own a 7-08. I recently discovered 130gr BTSP speer bullets with imr4064. Tight groups, like a 270 shooting 130"s.

If I get another I may be swayed into a weatherby with a 24" barrel.

Don't need one as I have a BRNO 21 in 7x57 Either way Win 760 is the ticket with 140gr bullets.........Harold
