7mm bullet for yotes

The 120gr Vmax does very little damage most of the time (shot them mainly from my 280AI @ just over 3350fps...shots ranged from ~200yds to just over 350yards.

Broadside shots typically yield quarter to loonie sized exit holes (I've seen much worse with my 22-250's at times)...

Shot a few full frontal, and the bullet never even exited!

The 140gr TSX again is great on broadside shots, but as with most any cartridge/bullet combo larger than 22 cal (including the 120gr Vmax) , if you hit big bone (high shoulder/spine...prepare to do some serious sewing)!

Also seen a few dozen shot with the 162gr Interlock from my buddies 7 Rem Mag (2950fps or so) and they do alright (broadside shots).

i took one at about 50 -60 yards with a .284 100 grain sierra hp leavin the muzzle at 4000fps.... he just puffed up and fell over no exit ,,,no spectacular dislmberment ,,,,, just fell over ...

I hand load 140 gr Remington coreloct the bullet just goes straight through and doesn't wreck anything. The bullets are designed for thick skin so they don't open up. Out of the hundreds of coyotes I have shot with my 7 I have only ruined 1 out of 10 maybe.

A cast bullet from any of these rifles loaded from 1200 fps. to 2000fps will probably leave you with the most pelt, some range time will be necessary to become familiar with trajectory changes. This might also be a chance to figure something out and use a ballistic plex scope where you use one hold for cast and another for condom bullets.
