Well I just got into reloading , and I just did a Batch of

4350 55.0
Ferderal #215 Primer
162 BTSP Interlocks

Just wondering if any one knows any other good recipes for 162's , The Batch i Just made was from the Hodgsons 2006 Annual Manual.

Thanks.

Go slow. 4350's much too fast, look at RL22 and 25, H870, US869, H1000, retumbo, AA8700, and 7878

Best results will probably come from RL22, H1000 and AA8700

4350 will work, but for optimum results, go 4831 or slower (RL22, 7828, H1000, etc)

work up to 65-66 grains of H4831sc or RL22. A Classic 7mm Mag load, that does around 2950-3050 fps in a 24-26" tube.

might want to switch to a 160 Partition or Accubond for moose/elk

Whenever I work up a load for a 7mm Remington Magnum, I have a standard accuracy load that has yet to be beaten: 61.5 to 62 grains of IMR 4831 pushing a Horandy 162 (or Nosler or Sierra 160).

As it turns out, this was my very first handload ever, when I started reloading in 1989, and it still remains the winner.

What the other fellows said about slower powders is true.

66 grains of H4831 with a 162 grain bullet usually gives very good results.

I get better than 0.5 MOA/5 shots groups with Hornady's AMAX 162 and 66 gr H4831 @ 2950 ft/s

Here is a 3 shot group using 160g Nosler partitions and IMR 4831.
I have gone as high as 63 grains of IMR 4831 with the 160 partition and accuracy was about the same.
I have also used RL-25 with great results. Both with 160 and 175 Nosler partitions.
