I've been reloading my 7mm remington mag. for 4 years. the last couple
i've been using imr7828 but i'm finding that it is real dirty and the wife don't like the smell when out shooting.:p just wondering what is good powder to try as i'll have to buy some soon.

IMR7828 dirty?? Really??
I have used it for many years in 7mm Mag, 300 Win Mag & 308 Norma Mag....never felt it was particularly dirty.
Possibly you are using it at well below max charges.
Slow burners tend to be more sooty at lower pressures.
Can't help you out with your wife's objection to the smell, though. LOL
Nevertheless, you may want to try Reloder 22 in your 7 Mag.

Thanx i started with reloader 22 may go back just looking for ideas

the wife is the big reason i'm looking as i load for her 7mm-08 aswell
 
I have used RL22, IMR7828 and now I use IMR4350. For my rifle, and you should work up your own load of course, I use 62 grains of 4350 with a 140 grain Accubond bullet. The muzzle velocity is just under 3100 fps and in my gun it is very accurate.

The other advantage to using this powder is that I am sure it would be fine in your wife's 7mm-08. I use the same powder in my 7X57 with great results.

The IMR web site lists a starting load of 43.7 grains and a max at 46.5C using a 140 grain bullet. I would start at the bottom and work a load up in .5 grain increments. The max load listed seems a little high to me.

However, I am sure you could get some great results for both guns using the same powder.
