7mm PRC is SAAMI approved.

This 7 mm PRC is WRONG ! it should be the same as the 6.5 PRC but necked up to .284 then it can be used with a short action and a Wyatt extended mag box - The 2.280 Needs a LONG action to allow the big bullets the COAL they need ! Failure ! I'm OUT on this one !

Flame away with your thoughts !

This is where you sell that 6.5 PRC and build a 7 PRC, and yes on a long action……this is going to be the most popular hunting/long range shooting cartridge on the planet in the next few years !!!

I’ve got my reamer ordered……

Looks like perfection to me...........

I look forward to purchasing this off you once you’re tired of it. What are the particulars of the rifle?

I’m having 3 of them built,

1- Defiance anTi action, 24 inch #5 contour carbon Fiber 1-8 twist Benchmark, Wildcat stock, Triggertech special trigger

2- Sako A7 SS action, 24” #2 contour, fluted 1-8.5 twist Benchmark barrel, Wildcat stock, factory trigger

3- Carl Gustav model 1900 action (push feed) , 23” 1-8 twist Benchmark, Wildcat stock, factory trigger

Please feel free to make changes as you see fit !!

So 7 rm without a belt in a 3006 length. Sounds familiar, actually like a 7wsm.

Others have said it. Release a new cartridge, in the middle of a ammo, and component crisis....let's name that crisis...I know, Brandon. If brass is available at all, it will probably be out of Hornady ammo. Such is already unobtainium, in 6.5 and 300 prc. Unlikely, when manufacturing can't keep up to common and government contracts that lines will be switched to run new heavy for bore 7mm bullets.

Now it might be a huge hit, but then again it might be a total miss....like every Wsm or Rum except 300, or the entire Wssm and Rcm families.

So, if one was not already invested in a 7 bore, sure. But for now I will wait and see if it's a Edsel, or Beatle.

x2 on all points. A couple yrs ago fellow I work with asked me what I think about the 6.8 Western. He needed something for deer hunting here in the east. I told him to forget the 6.8 and buy a 30-06 for the lack of ammo. He doesn't even know what a fast twist bbl is and why his new 6.8 has one. Now he can't get ammo for that boat anchor, nor does he handload. He just wanted the newest and the coolest thing and boy did he get it. <LOL>

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
Is there anything of which one can say, "Look! This is something new"? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.

No worries here, I thrive on the latest and greatest cartridges, any rifle I have built on the latest and greatest cartridge certainly wouldn’t be my only rifle or the one to depend on !
This cartridge will be one of the most popular cartridges on the planet within a cpl years and will be serviced/supported by many companies.

Bold statement

Normally I might agree with you but considering the amazing success of the other two PRC cartridges it’s not a stretch to think this one wont do as well also maybe even better, with slightly better ballistics than the 7mm Rem Mag and chambered with the ability to load any weight bullet in its caliber class it’s a no brainer when buying/building a new 7mm caliber rifle for hunting.

I have no doubt it will be very popular with the long range hunting/target crowd as well, all in all what’s not to like with a well improved version of the 7mm Rem Mag.
