7mm PRC is SAAMI approved.

I made it to the range this morning to do a little more testing with the 7mm PRC…..

What does quick load show for pressure with a 190 at 2900?

I doubt quickload even has the 7prc in its data yet, but I’ll bet it’s probably slightly over pressure with RCC brass I’m using as it’s internal volume is slightly smaller than Hornady brass,
If you notice velocity hardly changed in the last four charges, so pointless running it into pressure, I only did that for my own education with H1000 and the 190 A-Tips,
I like the looks of it around the 63.0gr load, a little slower but accurate, even the 64.3 group at 2847 looks reasonable.

For myself, I like the 160gr in a bigger 7mm, don't need more than that really, as I have no intention of using one as a long range, range gun, more recoil than I want on a range gun, and I don't need anything else for hunting, a 160NP will do what needs doing for me. The PRC clicker issue kind of puts a nail in the coffin for it, as I'd be either dependent on using factory ammo, or doing the AW2 reamer on it. Pretty safe to say Hornady doesn't give two hoots, they're not going to fix it as long as factory ammo works OK in it, it was designed and marketed with factory ammo/gun intent, reloaders and custom guns be damned, so to speak. And somebody shud slap them upside the bean on that one.

I like the idea of the 143 Hammer Hunter moving right along in a lightweight rifle. It would be easy to shoot, kill well and still give you some range.

Sorry, you lost me. What's the "clicker issue"? And why is it a problem for reloaders and custom guns?

I like my 6.5PRC, kind of the right balance for the caliber, fast but not too fast and runs good at less then max pressure. Reminds me of a 6.5x55 but magnum-ish.
300PRC I can see in my near future, I am lacking a 225gr 308 thrower.
The 7PRC... I've been playing with 7mmRem for so long it's going to be a tough to give that up. Even with the factory twist it shoots 162-175 match bullets just fine as far as I have access to shoot it (1km). I'll shoot out this factory barrel and probably just re-barrel in 7mmRem with a faster twist, will do everything I need.
Belts don't scare me lol.

Parts for my 7prc are starting to arrive.
Defiance Anti Nitride
Hawkins m5 bottom metal and Wyatt box
Hells canyon summit 8 twist carbon
TriggerTech rem700 primary trigger
Gunwerks Clymr stock should arrive in a week

After shooting my 300prc for a few years and being astonished with how accurate it is I had to try the 7prc. I just have to keep repeating to myself that I don’t need a 6.5 prc. My 6.5 creedmoor will suffice

Guns with very tight chambers + dies that don't fully size the brass can sometimes leave the brass "oversized" where the die meets the shellholder so when the reloaded round is fired and extracted there can be a "click" when you lift the bolt to the top and the extraction is engaged.

It's more common with top pressures.

It's not confined to only the PRC cartridges, either.

Yowsa that’s going to be a dandy rig, somehow very similar to my 300 PRC, what colours did you go with on the Clymer ?
What length are you going with on the barrel ?

Pretty much a copy of your rig Don. I went with the hip and trendy orange clymr. Barrel will be 22”. Seems the other colours offered were all very similar to my manners stock that I have on my 300prc so I went with something a little different.
