Well I've had a couple 7mm PRCs built and so far its been a riot to load for and shoot, No surprise here as factory ammo has been a lot slower velocity wise than advertised in a 22' Barrel, but consistently very accurate,

I just received some new ADG brass so started loading with that, amazing the cartridge was introduced last Oct and by July Peterson and ADG are producing brass for this new cartridge !

This 7mm PRC was built by Mitch Kendall in Kamloops BC,

Defiance AnTi action, 22 inch 1-8 twist 5R cut rifled Benchmark Carbon Fiber barrel, Hawkins Titanium side port brake,

Gunwerks Clymer Stock, Hawkins M5 BDL style bottom metal, TriggerTech Special Canadian Trigger

Talleys holding a Zeiss V4 4-16x44 scope, 8lbs 4oz, a touch heavier than I like but what a dream to shoot, Im really not a Gunwerks fan but I will say what a nice stock to shoot with.

Hornady Outfitter 160gr CX, vel avg of 6 shots 2960, this ammo was very consistent 2958-2962 velocity spread,
3 shot group at 100 yards

Hornady Precision Hunter 175gr ELDX, avg vel 6 shots 2835
3 shot group at 100 yards

That’s a beauty. I’m waiting for someone to import a 7 PRCW reamer just cause I’d like to try it . That said I may just do a normal 7 PRC when supplies are more abundant.

Thank you

I have a 7 PRCW reamer on the way, going to build it on a Defiance Anti XM action since I have a spare hanging around,
Probably a CF barrel, going to start with 24 inches and see how it performs, looks like it should be a great cartridge as well.

Now , that's some shooting and a great looking gun , nice stuff
If I can ask how much all in for that rig

Here's my Sako A7 (7mm rem mag donor) 7mm PRC with a 24 inch #2 contour 1-8 twist Benchmark, just had a Wildcat Stock installed, it shoots the factory ammo 50fps faster than the 22 inch barrelled 7 PRC so 25fps per inch, I always figured about 20 fps per inch so not to far off, topped with Talleys and a Zeiss V4 4-16x44, 7lbs 13oz scoped, this rifle was built by Mitch Kendall, it was the very 1st 7mm PRC built in Canada !

Nice. I debated going the Tikka/Sako donor route. I ended up going with an Antler Arms Wild Mountain, which is a Sako 85 clone action. I'm getting 2970 fps with factory 175 eld-x and 24" barrel. I could see picking up another easily if Tikka/Sako start chambering it.

Thank you

That’s exciting! Very interested in how that build goes. I might have to get a barrel made one day for my tikka switch barrel or build a whole new rifle 😂.

Keep us updated.

It's Alex Wheeler's version of 7prc. It's a necked up 6.5prc if I understand correctly. Erik Cortina has talked a bit about it on his youtube channel. Seems like it's getting popular with competitive shooters in the states

I'm familiar with 7prc, what's a 7prcw?

Jon87 has it right. It’s the wheeler version I believe he had it made prior to release of the actual 7PRC. It uses the 6.5 PRC brass and can be put into a short action (I believe) like a 6.5 PRC. Super popular in F-Class in the states. Erik Cortina talks about it and I believe F-class John does as well. Basically it’s what everyone thought the 7PRC would be just a necked up 6.5. I like it only because I have a bunch of 6.5 prc components and they are slowly being easier to get so it would be a fairly simple transition for me to make personally.
