7mm PRC

7PRC 175 ELD-x is advertised on the Hornady site to run @ 3000fps from a 24 inch barrel.

Sub 2900 fps would be like why bother with a 7 PRC, must be lots of leeway to bump up the speed if so desired?

I was getting 2970ish out of that factory 175 ELD-X with a 22" barrel. Just depends on the barrel I guess. It seems like a fairly hot load. I can also get 3100ish out of 168gr Barnes handloads. No pressure signs, but I doubt there's room to go a whole lot further

Well here's the new KS Arms 3 lug lightweight action and a 23" inch KS Arms 1-8.5 twist fluted barrel chambered in 7mm PRC, bedded into a Wildcat Stock, Hawkins M5 BDL style bottom metal, Triggertech Primary trigger, Talleys holding a Leica Amplus 6 3-18x44 scope, rifle weight 6lbs 4oz, scoped weight 7lbs 15oz,

*pretty pictures*

Great looking rifle. How are you liking that action? I am leaning towards my own lightweight, long range, do-all killstick with the 3-lug SAR lightweight action as the foundation.

I think the build would actually be fairly similar to yours - Hawkins M5 floorplate, Triggertech trigger, Wyatt extended box mag, Talley's, Leica (or similar power range/size scope), etc. Probably in an AG Composites alpine hunter.
