7mm Rem Mag Barnes x load data?

Anybody with a Barnes manual able to pass along 175 gr load data for 7mm Rem Mag.? If it's listed, I'd really like to see the numbers using RL22. Considering this as a possible bear/moose load. Thanx
 
Personally, I see no reason to load a 175gr X in the 7mm. The 160gr will penetrate as much as you could ever want, and you can get an extra 150fps out of it for a little flatter trajectory. I'm thinking of going with a 150 when my 160's run out.

From the #1 manual:
RL22
start:54.0gr - 2563fps
max: 59.0gr - 2710fps

IMR7828
start: 58.0 - 2654fps
max: 63.5 - 2785fps

H1000
start: 60.0 - 2584fps
max: 65.0 - 2735fps
 
I shot a moose and a couple bears with the 175 gr. X in the 7mm Rem Mag.

my load was 58 grains RL22, CCI 250, in a F-C nickel case


today, I'd look no further than the 140 gr. Barnes TSX when looking for a moose, elk, or bear load in the 7mm Mag. You cant use more penetration than that most times.

I most often use 160's...even the "economical" Hornady Interlocks gave me good results for a number of years. The x's are for one of my sons who has his name in the hat for what looks like a "good odds" spring grizzly draw, so I figure the additional 15 grains can't hurt. I've got several different manuals, but Barnes isn't one of them... never loaded any of their bullets before, and picked up the notion somewhere that their solids can create a bit more pressure than jacketed bullets. Just wanted to stay safe...really appreciate your help.

his friend put a 160 gr. X through both shoulders of a bear with an exit wound.

I stand by my statement of 140 gr. X is plenty of weight for damn near any critter in 7mm.

I shot a moose this year with the factory Federal 160gr Triple shock. Entry: front shoulder/neck junction. The bullet was recovered in the opposite side, kidney area. Picture perfect "X" mushroom.

As for your request, Barnes manual #3

175gr XFB with RL22, 55.0 @ 2537fps.........max load, 60.0 @ 2768fps, out of a 24" barrel.

Let me knowi if you want more loads.
 
After seeing the exit wound through both shoulders of that grizzly with the 160gr X, so large I could stick severa fingers in it...

I'd save the 175gr X for elephants.;)

I agree 100%.With the tsx bullet ,140gr is all that you need.
 
Good choice of powder, work up slow, some of this stuff, 19 included I think can vary a bit. No worries though, starting loads, then look for that magic load for Accuracy , don't worry about Velocity, but watch for loads that are too low and cause pressure problems on the low end when using a slow powder. Oh Sierra has a hollow point 160 gr. hunting bullet, looks great , have not tried it yet.
