7mm Rem Mag vs. 270 Win.

Foxer, I believe we all started at 0 posts when it crashed - and you're right - the biggest difference between the 270 & 7mm Mag would come down to the bullet being loaded in the particular cartridge

I don't think so bud - i'm 99.999 percent sure that our post counts carried over. I stopped posting all the articles myself almost two years ago - i didn't rack up all those posts since 2004.

All the old posts from the old board got carried over - the machine counts when our account here was created for the 'joined date', but counts the total posts regardless of when they were posted. I didn't start at "1" when the new system came on line and i doubt anyone else did either.

Could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure i'm not. (which is pretty much my default state :D )

Nah, I never shoot or test loads or anything. Mostly I just look at ballistics tables and read energy figures and come to conclusions on how different cartridges will work on game by reading the energy numbers.

And I said if I was being charged I would want a 270 because it boots less and allows me a faster follow up shot.

I have a 338-378 Weatherby Mag.

I have shot white tail deer with it. (good shot placement is a must)

Therefore ............

I must be ### and have a small #####.

My wife must know this because she gave me the rife for christmas.

If I trade my soooper mag for a 30-30 will I grow a bigger ####?

get a 7mm and load it with reduced recoil ammo like 350 does :D

Uhhhhh!!!!....

That is CLEARLY a .260 Remington box of AMMO....NOT 7mm....:confused:

For what it's worth I just ran 72 gr of H-1000 through my 7mm this morning....was a pretty HOT load...but considering I have DARK, leathery RED/BROWN skin I thought I could handle any case ruptures...much like a broken beer bottle on a Saturday night.....:eek:

Bartell and I put 46gr into my 270 under a 110ttsx, and I guarantee I get better downrange performance than your 7mm :) And I bet the moose can't tell the difference at 300y either.

I wouldn't KNOW....I am a STUPID INDIAN(Todd Bartell named ME!!!)...and still using a SHARP-STICK.
