I would try Fed 215 and go even higher with the H4831, depending on pressure signs. RL22 should be okay to 65 gr or even to 66 gr but again, be careful about pressure. I had 64.5 gr IMR 4831 with a 160 gr bullet with awesome accuracy and MV of 3050 fps. But I do believe that the 7RM and RL22 are made for each other, just too bad that RL22 is temp sensitive! BUT I've used it in a lot of my 7RM loads and have no major complaints.

In the loaddata in the 160gr range there are a couple loads with RL 22 having a better group but majority of the accurate loads goes to the IMR 7828 , and for some reason RL 22 never gave me better groups over the 7828 for other calibers that i reload for.

I've never used IMR7828 in 7RM but have heard it is a good match for it. If I ever get back into a 7RM, I'd probably give it a try!

Got a model 700 Stainless back some time in the early 90's...Was a big disappointment in the accuracy department...Wouldn't shoot sub 1.5 inch with anything I loaded up for it.

Ended up I threw away the factory stock and mounted the barreled action in an H-S Precision stock with the aluminum bedding block...Bingo...Instant 3 quarter inch shooter.

Since my reason for getting the 7 mag was to hit stuff harder and further then I was with my 270 I settled on a stiff load of 71.5gr 7828 with CCI mag primers under a 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tip yielding 3200fps...Yeah...The Remington brass I use has loose primer pockets after 3 loadings but I get flat hard hitting accuracy at long range with a medium weight package.

Eagle Eye was laughing cause with a good shooting gun most any load will shoot well...Changing load details won't make a poor shooting rifle shoot much better.

very few guns will do that....i'm fortunate enough to have 2 of them, 1 is a Remington 700 in 300win Mag the other a CZ 550 in 9.3x62, this 2 rifles are not picky at all they will shoot anything you trow at them very well,but for some reason the 7MMs do give me a bit of a headache .
I had a hard time a few years back finding a good load for my Brno in 7x57, tried a bunch of different bullets primers and powder combinations and guess what, 175grs Hornady's round nose pushed by IMR 7828 and ignited by CCI 200 was what i settled on.

I use 160gr accubonds with Retumbo and get .4-.6 average groups with 3100 fps velocity, it is a M70 action that has had alot of work done to it, but it also shot R22 very well. May have to do some work on the rifle to get more accuracy?

That will be my last resort.....before i come to that point i will try a few other powders and bullets, i also have heard that some particular rifles prefer flat bases over boat tails.

Yes that can be possible I had a 270 that liked flat base over BT and it did not like partitions especially.

Plenty of barrels prefer flat-base bullets. It comes down to bearing surface; the sleekest VLD style
are the pickiest, with more conventional BTs being easier to
get along with. Flatbases are better yet, and if

It will likely still group round nose if it won't shoot anything else.

Lol Eagleye has a "few" guns and I don't believe he has one that doesn't shoot sub-Moa with the exception of a few lever guns. I have shot with Eagleye before and when I get a group of 3/4 inch he will be getting groups of 3/8s..(humble pie for me). But honestly I won't even own a gun that shoots over 1 inch

IMR4350 was always my go to powder for the 7mm, near max charge behind almost any 160gr pill with a CCI200 primer would put 5 shots in a 35 caliber hole any day I could do my part..

X2. Also have used IMR 4831 with great results, but usually go with 4350 (because I have 8 lbs of it).

I have shot with Eagleye before and when I get a group of 3/4 inch he will be getting groups of 3/8s..(humble pie for me). But honestly I won't even own a gun that shoots over 1 inch

Look i do have a couple rifles that can shoot a 1/4" to 1/2" all day long but those are not my hunting rifles, if my hunting rifles shoot 1" to even 1.1/2" i will be ok with it due to the fact that i'm not taking ridiculous long shots when i'm hunting, i try to keep my shots under 300 to 350 yds this does't mean that i'm not capable of it or i don't have the rifle for it, it's just my prerogative.
But then again it would be very nice to have hunting rifles to shoot 3/8 groups like the ones you mentioned that Eagleye owns .

I don' typically take shots over 400yards, but I the longest kill on an elk I have is 550yards. Eagleye is very good at reloading, he takes older guns and makes them shoot. He can take a old parker hale for example that he purchased for pennies on the dollar and get 1/2 inch groups. I regularly consult with him on reloading as he is a walking encyclopedia for reloading .

It is actually amazing what a good reload will do to even the most unlikely rifles.

Questioning Eagleye's capability at reloading doesn't even cross my mind after all he rates pretty up there in my books even though i never met the man, but like i said before 3/8 groups would be nice to have on a hunting rifle it would be something to brag about but reality is i would be happy if my hunting rifles all shot 1" to 1.1/2" group which pretty much they do except this 7mm rem Mag for now that is .

I am shooting 160 gr Accubonds and 70grs of RL25 @ 2950 fps out of rem 700 only thing I did to the the gun was add aluminium pillars and bed the action. I also clean down to steel when I am done shooting. get sub moa 3 shot groups consistently.

Is your barrel free floated? Reason I ask is I bought a used Remington 700 xcr a few months ago for cheap , the guy said he couldn't get it shoot . As I didn't know, I offered a lot less than he was asking. Long story short barrel was touching multiple places so I sanded it down so I could run a $20 bill down the channel. Now it shoots 3/4 inch. Might be something simple?

Rifle is brand new and the barrel is free floated pillar bedded and glass bedded, i have another rifle same brand in 9.3x62 that groups less than 1" all day long, go figure.
