Hi Guys
New to the 7mm mag world
I have a Christensen Arms Ridgeline in 7mm
I have lots of IMR7828ssc
Berger 168gr Classic Hunters
But I am not finding much data for 7828, though I thought this would be a suitable powder for it.
Maybe I am wrong
I would appreciate your guys thoughts
 
Try a recipe that will have Alliant #25, IMR7828 and Alliant #25 gave the same burn rate. Listed in the Nosler manual.

7828 or RL22 have worked the best in the three I load for. - dan
 
The maximum loads for IMR 7828 have dropped considerably with each new manual published, for the 7MM Rem Mag. I found some old Bob Hagel data and went from there. I won't share the load (it is top end) but if you can find his data it is a good reference.
 
Interesting, thanks guys. I have a pile of manuals, just most of them don't list of course the 168 bullet, and I could try the 175 gr loads and work up , just the listed data seams exceptionally slow.
 
Have been using IMR7828 in the Remington 7mm Mag for 30 years...Very predictable...I find my MAX loads are over book loads and plenty safe giving high velocities and good brass life.
 
Well for starters Berger and hunter does not belong in the same sentence IMO.Target and 2 legged varmint bullets at best.I've seen too many failures on big game from the muzzle to 600 yards. I use Partitions and Accu-Bonds mostly 160gr with IMR4350 as well N165 with Hornady 140gr SP for deer.Your mileage may vary.I gave away 1/2 a box of .270 130gr "Burgers" to a guy ....in hindsight I should have thrown them away.

X2!! I would add IMR 7828 and Norma MRP to the "heavier" bullets in the 7mm Rem Mag. Dave.
 
I agree with the gentlemen that use 160gr accubonds or partition's with that I used Retumbo with fantastic results also R22 I find 7828 worked well but not as good of accuracy in my rifle, I use it in my 270 WSM with 150's and that works well.
