Been having a hard time sourcing 300 rum , a fellow gun nut suggested I use 7 mm rum which I happen to have on hand.

Anyone ever do this conversion.

I annealed 30 cases of once fired to try this. Just waiting on 338 rum dies.
I am not so worried about run out or case thickness. Just not a lot of info on this

I assume the 7 and 300 rum case are pretty much identical.

there is .002 difference in shoulder diameter, this may cause feeding issues and may be the way its been designed so cartridge swapping can not take place. I shoot an edge but paid the piper and sourced out the Bertram brass cost more but so far seems to be paying off, my buddy uses Remington brass and after 2-3 reloads has primer pockets out up. Pay now cry once and be done defensive edge may still have some when I first got started I ordered mine thru a company in New Zealand that ordered it from Australia took 4 months to get them. Good luck enjoy and have fun it is a great round to play with.

Thank you for the advice I may order this and for now play with the brass I have

I only suggested this because I have a surplus of 7mm rum of 200 plus once fired cases.

sounds like that is a starting point to order they are not cheap defensive edge is 333 per 100 rounds U.S. plus shipping duty and exchange but I believe they are in the same quality as Lapua. from over seas it took over 4 months to get came in around the same price may be a little more but at the time defensive edge had been out of inventory for many months I had not option guess I could have gone the Remington way! As well if you don't have one yet its a very good thing to have is an Annealing machine keep that brass at its best.
