No its not too fancy. Its a Redfield 4-12x40 with LR duplex.

7mm RUM is listed as a Group 2 cartridge (300 yard zero) so your reticle has hold points for 400, 500 and 600 yards.

Those suggestions are rough at best though. Make sure you confirm before trying it on game. The simple LR duplex does work quite well though once you have confirmed the points with your load.

So for the 7mm RUM, zero at 300 yards for 140 and 160gr bullets at the listed muzzle speeds and use the provided hold points. But which bullets??

Nikon provides a calculator on their website for calibrating their scope reticles for specific calibers and bullets. For example I have a Nikon Omega 3-9x40mm which has the BDC 300 reticle on my 416 Ruger and load the 340gr V15 Cutting Edge Bullet at 2575 fps zeroed at 240 yards.
