7mm RUM

You might want to look at the Remington Sendro stainless 26" barrel fellow was keeping under 2.5" at 300 yards with factory ammo last fall at range I go to, I was quite impressed, very nice looking gun

I am hearing reports that 180 grain bullets are working very good in the 7 mm Rum, I have not tried this as yet. Tames the velocity but works well at extended range. I am sure it does not tame the recoil.

Maybe MacKillin and Archie are the same person, maybe they share a brain.....in any case everybody knows the fastest 7mm is 7x57 Mauser but only when pushing 160 gr bullets with a full case of bullseye powder ;)..... dont' forget your Safety Glasses !!!!

Ok, but how does a 7mm Ultra compare to the 7-30 Waters? I mean the Waters is a faster rifle to swing, right? Therefore if the Waters comes up faster will it kill deader? Or could you include the swinging velocity of bringing the muzzle up and around like a sling, would that make it go faster? Could you possibly then have a brush avoider instead of a brush buster? I mean in the movies if you swing your gun while you shoot it can fly around obstcals, so maybe that's the secret. Ok I decided, the 7mm-30 Waters is superiour to the Ultra by a huge margin. Now, when will Sako build a compact lever? Ooh. in an STW!!!!!

I will prbably try and run the 180's Jay Yuke. Will 180s in the WBY be faster that 160's in the RUM?

What the hell Ya sure it is!

Archie bare with us here lad, not 10 posts down there was a thread about the 7mm Rum as discussions lead on, and to my knwledge its the highest velocity factory chambered 7mm.

Does not matter what bullet grain you shoot, however you asked if 180s out of a weatherby are faster than 160s out of Rum. I assume maybe you were thinking are 180s faster out of a Rum than 160s out of a weatherby... I hope.
I am going to stick up for you and say this is what you meant

Well I do not know to be 100% honest because , I have never chronied either, but will go out on a limb here and say, they may be close to the same velocity some place i would expect between 3000-3100 fps.

The water in courtice must taste a lil funny eh?

Well I was just tring to be nice! But try as I might, you never have to worry about that again. This was the first post I read of yours and now the last.

I did not know your history on this site, but i do now.

Ihave plent of humor, and in fact, laughed at your first crack at this, but the following 4 threads you started, just to get your post whoring underway, well they lacked funny, but made up for that in stupid. Now that this is the only one unlocked, i am back to enjoying.

Bottom line, your run on 7mm's was much less intelligent than mackillans, and your avatar is alot worse too.

Back to the fun
