7mm SAUM Build

Sorry I find it amusing when people tell others how they could have done it better, cheaper, even under the guise of a suggestion. Heck, I am surprised nobody has questioned his caliber choice. Enjoy.

No different than when someone posts their ultralight rifle but they are using a Winchester action with hinged bottom metal. It's not suggestion that it could be done better, it's fact. In this case, I didn't even suggest that I could have done it better. I just said I found the scope choice curious. They he replied that it was just for photos and he, in fact, has the scope that I mentioned mounted on the rifle. So not only could I have done it better, apparently, so could the OP!

geez can't people just leave their bullsh!t out of nice threads like this?

on topic..... gorgeous rifle and I also think it is a fantastic melding of classic/modern craftsmanship.
Manners is sure making some nice stocks these days, might have to take a gander at their website for some ideas hehehe

Nothing wrong with having a difference of opinion, as long as you’re not bashing one another, if we all thought alike the world would be pretty boring…..

I have the very same Zeiss 4-16x44 on my 5lb 3oz 280AI and I wouldn’t have it any other way, nice thing about a very light rifle is you can put a heavier scope on it and still keep the overall weight down, it’s a nice problem to have.

Exactly.. I take no offense ever, this is the internet. Maybe Mr. Bean isn’t funny to you.

You get really nice stuff done and I wish I had your issues. Lol

What was your price landed in Canada?

Do they have an import licence like Boyd’s so they can send direct? Not sure if stocks are ITAR or if they can always be sent directly.

Would look nice one a mauser or Kimber for sure.

Edit: looks like they are available for rem 700 short action footprint custom actions only. I’ve been eyeing up an ARC nucleus but I really shouldn’t. Threads like this are hard on the old wallet

I think you need to buy them from a dealer. Bighorn and Go Big Tactical are two dealers that I know of.

*they make long action stocks as well. I think there’s a few models that are short action only.

Gary Eakin had this one in stock at Bighorn Sales in Houston BC, approximately $1300 to my door give or take a few bucks as it was shipped with other stuff.

Gary Flach put together another nice rifle for me,

Defiance AnTi XM action, Defiance XM alloy bottom metal kit, TriggerTech Trigger, 22 inch 1-8 twist 5R Benchmark Carbon Fiber Wrapped Barrel plus a Gary Flach hand made side port brake, Gary used a custom mixed Carbon Gunkote Colour to match the carbon theme on all metal surfaces.

The stock is a Manners Ultra Classic Plus exposed Carbon stock (17.5oz)

The rifle weighs 5lbs 12.1oz on its own, 7lbs 3.8oz with Talleys holding a Zeiss V4 4-14x44 scope.....next stop the rifle range.

Nice !
