7mm vs 7mm-08

hey im new to the fourm and new to shooting and i was loking at buying my first gun, and i was looking at the Savage Axis XP 7mm-08 but i was wondering what the difference is between 7mm and the 7mm-08. also wondering if a 7mm bullet will fit in the 7mm-08

Which other 7mm are you referring to? 7 x 57 , 7mm RM, 7mm WSM , 7mm STW, the list goes on.

7mm bullets are all 7mm, but there are many different chamberings.

7mm WSM and the 7MM Remington Mag ar the ones i seen around hear localy

Are you reloading?

Are you buying factory ammo?

The 7mm RM and WSM are different case sizes with different capacities.

Go to reloaders nest and you can see all the differences between ALL 7mm offerings.

buying ammo it is winchester 150 gr. Power Max Bonded

If you are buying ammo make 100% certain that on the box it says the exact same thing it says on the rifle.They are NOT interchangeable.
