7mm WSM, Who's shooting one? Update Post 47, Build complete

Most prefer the 270 WSM as it actually has a performance advantage over the 270 Win., something the 7mm WSM doesn't have over the very common and popular 7mmRem Mag.
Well DUH!

7mm WSM vs 7mm RemMag ..... Both ARE Magnums (Apples and apples)
270WSM vs 270Win ....... Both are NOT Magnums (Apples and oranges)

MAKING 7WSM BRASS: I use the 270 WSM brass and fireform it. I've found the 1X 270wsm brass neck dia just fits over the expander of the 7WSM die. So run the brass through the 7 sizer die load it with a (140gr bullet and a gentle load of powder) the bullet MUST be out far enought to contact the lands when closing the bolt. Clean and chamfer the neck of brass do not lube the neck. This gives me perfect 7 WSM brass, no need to turn necks check OAL mine came out 0.003 longer than new factory unfired brass.
Enjoy

My wife shoots a laminated model 70 in 7wsm as her Moose/elk/bear rig.

It shoots very well, and considering its launching 140 grain mon metals at 3300 fps it has way less perceived recoil than it should. It is a bit heavier rifle though - and for her that is fine. She's taken a Moose, a couple cow elk (and a bull) and last year a whitetail while elk hunting.

I found the cartridge easy to load for - this one like reloader 19.

This or fireforming 300WSM brass is about the only options right now. My source is internet forums, but from what I've read is Winchester hasn't made 7WSM brass in quite awhile and has no plans of a run in 2015. Anyone know different?

Well, after a several month wait I finally have my Sako 75 Greywolf 7WSM in my hands. Haven't fired it yet, but have a bunch of rounds ready to fireform.
Plan was to build it exactly as the factory Sako rifle, to fill the gap Sako missed. I had originally purchased a 300 WSM to build off of, but the one I got was near perfect condition, so I couldn't do it. Searched around and found another Grey Wolf in a 270 WSM that had a brake installed, and wasn't nearly as nice overall. So it became the donor, and now I have twin rifles, a 300 WSM and 7 WSM.
Here it is.

Very cool.

I always thought if I was going to play with a WSM it would be a rifle chambered in the 7mm.
