7MM x 57 brass and Hand loads for a Auto rifle in 7mm x 57

I can find off the shelf rounds but how hard is it to find brass for a 7MM x 57 for reloading looking at buying a semi auto the choice of projectiles is good but don't see too much brass around and off the shelf can be pricey.
IDEAS?

Which semi-auto is chambered in 7x57??
Brass is regularly made by Winchester, Remington and others.
I have never found it problematic to acquire, and I have been shooting 7x57 rifles for 50 years.

Yes it is ,the Columbian version was in 30-06 and Egyptian in 8x57.........Harold.........Argentina converted some to .308 with detachable 20 rd mags

I don't know where you are in the Okanagon but if you're in Kelowna, you will probably have to drive to Vernon and get either realoading supplies or commercial loads from Del Selin's. They always have some in stock.

Del had several bags of 50 on their shelves on Friday. Lots of different bullet weights available as well.
 
Yes as stated above it is the FN49 rifle i looked around a little,i normaly get my stuff from wholesales sports out of Kamloops.Not much here in Penticton i can't even find a hunting reg book i find myself going to Kelowna alot.lol

Do they have a web site or what is there address next time i go through there i can stop by and check it out?Penticton just lost the sport shop so not alot of choices here.

Does anyone load for a AUTO in 7mm x 57 what are you useing for bullets and powder??

Don't tell me you are still looking for the brass, after I gave you the best lead in the industry 6 months ago. :rolleyes:
 
NO NO I am after the best powder and bullet to use for a auto loader rifle.

Does anyone load for a AUTO in 7mm x 57 what are you useing for bullets and powder??

I used to load for the FN49 several years back. I had the best results from medium to fast powders and 140 gr bullets.
39 grains of IMR 4895, and a 140 gr sierra pro-hunter bullet worked very well in mine. Start about 37.0 gr IMR4895 and work up.

You don't want to load too hot - just a load that reliably cycles the action. Superfast velocity, high pressure, heavier bullets, and slow powders do not work so well and might damage the action - or so I have read, didn't actually try it to find out. :).
 
Ya i read that too i have a 8mm and 7mm in fn49 now in my 8mm i just bought some rem.off the self the action worked fine but i think the factorys make em so they work in any rifle but anyway thanks that is a good starting point for me 4895 was also pointed out to use on my 8mm so i could start with that for both.
