7mm

7wsm

i own a 7mag in a ruger no1b.
shooting 150's at 3225 fps it kicks less than my sako 30-06 with 180s. . . way less.
and it point blanks moose out to 450 and deer 350.

id take a browning over a remmy
the only justifiable short mag is the 270 as it sees a performance increase
7wsm and 300wsm aren't worth the hassle

im actually hoping to go up to a stw or ultra mag as recoil if so light in that single shot

There are no hassles with the 7wsm and 300wsm - they both deliver heavier bullets and hit harder than 277 caliber short mag/tall standard usual cartridges with equal velocities as tall magnum (284 and 308) counterpoints.
There are lots of good deals on 7WSM rifles in the EE - don't be afraid to try one, you might just find you like it better than the old stalemates.

If you don't reload, 7RM.

If you do reload, you can try the 7WSM. Cheaper since you'll be using less powder for the same performance velocity-wise.

I've been using a custom 7WSM for less than a year and have already taken a muley buck, black bear, and a moose with it. It works great with a 140gr TTSX.
