7th Annual Upper Canada Double Gun Classic

Two guys…..one leg. How the f#ck does that work? Laugh2

They take turns lol. One leg each I guess I should have said. They've got 1 foot in the grave already and can still shoot as good as me or better

In all seriousness though I watched my buddy struggle thru the entire process and there's no way I could handle it anywhere near as good as he has.

I know I might have pushed the humour boundaries there but you are right. Sometimes I see people dealing with this type of catastrophic life altering situation and my mind gets blown with what they are able to accomplish. A bit of a cliche but it reminds one that some people actually do have real challenges…. Mine are a bit minor league in comparison.

Canvasback, a sale table got mentioned. What is sold on that and how does it work exactly? Anyone want some cheap rhubarb, lol?

So I Think there are 8 or 10 picnic tables beneath a covered area. We use those tables to display the guns in a very ad hoc kind of way......get to the event.....find some space......lay out your guns where you can find room. In past years, again in quite an organic way, some people brought gun associated stuff that was for sale. That stuff kinda got gathered at a particular table.

I don't think anyone cares what is sold. We have in past years also had a fellow who is in the gun business bring his own table and 8-10 classic SxS for sale as well as a "Sporting Life" bookseller. Who I think will be back this year.

Someone wanting accessory cufflinks for the Double Gun Classic here and/or the Southern Side By Side Gunfest I posted about in another thread could hardly do better than these Purdy designed ones someone sent me the link for, as found on British Ebay. Be sure and view them when they're opened:

I could buy them if I wanted to, but I don't want to, lol.

Hahaha. I had to ask the price so entirely out of my league!

Sincerest apologies and I hate to say this (as someone who was really looking forward to meeting everyone at this event, and learn from it) but I will have to miss my first DGC. Work summons me to Amsterdam.

Its great that the Double Gun Classic is being held again this year. Congrats to Canvasback and his supporters for organizing this fine event.
Bad news for me is that Oshawa is a long haul from Calgary. On the otherhand my long time buddy, fellow collector and hunting buddy, Ol Flinter (Doug) will be there with a few of doubles. Be prepared, he also shoots a mean round of skeet.
Have fun everyone.
Bill

As promised I will provide a leather game carrier for highest skeet score of the day, and to up the stakes in the "my 12 ga. double with minimum 25" bbls is lighter than your's" category, a leather clay shooter's boot protector. I liked the game carrier so much I made another that will awarded to the CGN member who travelled the furthest from home to attend.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
If anyone has 12 ga. fibre wads and nitro cards surplus to their needs, that is something I am looking for so bring them along. Would welcome a box of large pistol primers also. (want to load some 12 ga. Magtech brass)
