That is true. I always thought they would make a nice little survival rifle north of the treeline where you can dump caribou with a 22 centerfire.

If you want to really push the envelope on what can be accomplished using a .22 centerfire, here's one for you that I've posted in other threads.
The lady is a Mrs. Betty Wendle from the Barkerville area. Her forte was hunting Grizzly using a 99 Savage in .22 Savage High Power. When we first moved to B.C., we lived in Barkerville and just a short distance from the Wendle home. In the stairwell of their home, she had four Grizz hides from Bears she had personally taken.

And then I came a little later from what I classify as the
'Pre-Metric Era'. Oh, another old photo from about the same period of time as the Wendle photo I posted earlier, this one of my Dear old Dad on the family homestead about 70 miles west of Edmonton.
