7x57 mauser

Wow, thanks for all of the replies! My rifles are Mauser 98 actions and a Ruger No.1. I also have a pair of Brazilian Mausers (a 1908 and 1935) that see range days on occasion, I’d like to use the same load for all..
Any sane load should be safe in any of those.

The load I gave you above with Win 760 works well in all of my 7x57 chambered rifles when using 140 grain bullets. Others here have used this load as well and like the consistent accuracy and good velocities.

It's safe in all of the rifles you list and more than adequate for the Deer you want to hunt out to 400 meters.

What gun is your 7x57 in as there would be a big difference between loads for a 95 mauser and a modern gun or 98 mauser? Win 760 is your powder with 140gr bullets.RE#22 with 160gr or IMR 4350.I'm running a BRNO21 that's so accurate it's boring.

Same here but using plain jane Federal blue box 175gr RN. Deadly.

The hand loads I have worked up are using IMR4064 and IMR4350. Don't have the charge weights off the top of my head but they are both decent shooters.

I stumbled across some Geco factory ammo with 165 gr softpoints. Shot them on the weekend and the gun seemed reasonably happy with the heavy bullets so I decided to reload the brass with some H4350 and 175 grain Nosler Partitions. I'll report back once I've touched them off.

50 gr of IMR 4350 under a 139/140 gr. bullet should come close to duplicating the service load used in those rifles. Should put you in the neighbourhood of 2800 fps.
