I have been loading for the 7mm mauser for a few years. I have a Remington 700 and have been loading mostly 160 gr and 175 gr using lower pressure data. I am hoping some of you have any experience with slightly hotter loads with h4350 and 154 gr Hornady bullets. Thanks

With Hornady 154's I load 48.0 grains of H4350 for my 7X57's... but 50.0 grains of RL-19 has been a much better load for my M77's and No.1's (as always... work up) for both, accuracy and velocity. 51.0 grains of W760 has been a good load too...

Good results with Re22 and 175gr Sierra GameKing SBT bullets. 2500 fps MV from my 20" barrel Zastava fullstock carbine -

I always start low. I am just tired of starting to book minimums with the 7 mm mauser. Ends up wasting a lot of valuable time and components. My rifle has a fairly long throat, what O.A. length were you going to? My last batch of 162 gr loads I went with mid load 7-08 data and found no pressure sighns on the few I have tried.

I had a Rem 700 Classic in 7x57.
Best loads with 154 Hornady SP and H4350 that I settled on were 48.7 grains. I was prepared to go to 49.7 but the 3-shot group was consistently 13/16" at 100 yards.
Velocity was chrony'd at 2617 fps.
Bullets were seated 0.025" from the lands.

I use Win 760 with the 140gr bullet and RE#22 or IMR 4350 with the 160 gr Grand Slams in a BRNO 21........pretty much same ragged hole.Harold

Imr 4350 gave me excellent results with the 162 gr Hornady btsp. I shot a 1/2" group with it last spring. I also put 16 into under 2" at 100 yards. Very consistent but my velocity was only around 2450 fps. Once summer came It became more erratic and less predictable. That is my reason for switching to the Hodgdon brand lately.

Reloder 17 has given me the best results with 140-145 grain bullets.
With 160's and 175's, I use Norma MRP. This gives top velocities and
fine accuracy in my 700 Classic so chambered. D.

I use IMR 4350 not 'H', with a load of 50grs and the same bullet. H4350 is similar but not identical. Somewhere between 48-50 grs should get you to max. My rifle has a very long throat as well.

Last night I loaded up some at 46, 47 and 48 gr out to 3.10" I will shoot them this week if I have time. I also loaded up a few with 45 gr under 175 gr Hornady round nose. I'm hoping to get better than 2600 with the 154 gr with good accuracy but we shall see. I

It is a shame for sure. I'm down to a little over 100 of them and use them very sparingly. They penetrate very well but open up easy on broadside shots through the ribs. And look pretty neat as well

Too bad Hornady stopped making the 175gr RN. Nice that you have a supply.

I have my own lifetime supply and still a few Barnes 195 gr as well.

I've stuck with a stout load of H4831 for 2550 fps from my 20" barrel.

Those 195gr bullets (and especially the 175gr solids ) would penetrate into tomorrow. :p

Barnes Reloading Manul No.1 7x57 load data for 175 and 195gr bullets (26" barrel) -

Here is what I have. 46 gr h4350, new ppu brass, wlr primer
2501 fps
2492
2503
2502
47 gr h4350:
2530 fps
2517
2522
2528
48 gr h4350:
2587 fps
2622
2616
2612
2618
All shot very close to same p.o.i
No pressure sighns

Barnes Reloading Manual No.1 lists 2708 fps for their 160gr using 47.0 gr of H4350 with a 26" barrel. Add about 30 fps for a 154gr bullet and subtract about 120 fps for a 20" barrel equals about 2600 fps vs. your result of 2530 fps.
