8.5 Grizzly does its job.

Absolutely, this is true. Studies have also shown that fisherman and boaters are placed at extreme risk of head trauma caused by ducks and geese falling out of the sky after being shot and killed by the unsafe practice of firing a shotgun into the air. Additionally, it has been speculated (probably in Toronto or Vancouver) that shooting upwards will cause the shot pellets to leave the atmosphere (i.e. shoot into outer space!) and damage satellites or even provoke hostile reaction from passing UFO's.

Do do it! It's just not worth the risk!

I heard you can bring down the internet!

Volitaire I have both 00 Buck and slugs in my side saddle- 00Buck for up close such as this incident, and slugs for longer range and more knock down. And no, its not just for Bears - if you need any more explanation, think about it, we are off grid and the to preserve and protect guys will be coming only after the fact. Got to gear up buddy because we are not from Vancouver crunching on granola bars and hugging trees up there lol !!!!! ATV riding, Snowmobiling, snow shoeing, fishing, bow hunting, plus falling dead pine beetle trees for fire wood and just generally getting away from the thought of work down here in the flat lands. Oh sorry man just saw your location (Vancouver) didn't mean to offend you with the granola comment lol !!! Just can't get that outta my head now lol !!!

Any how here is my set up with the Tacstar and Mesa side saddle holders.
The Tacstar is a modified holder for a Mossberg, it is very secure on the butstock.
I now have 10 on the gun and four in it. Hope ya all enjoy the photo's.

Getting geared up has nothing to do with it, I was just wondering why you're loading 00 in a 8.5", the spread for 00 in my 12.5" already starts to suck at 25m.

Can you legally have a folding stock on that shotgun?

That's way to cool, I want one. Wild love to carry it in a holster like the mare's legs have

Can you take she #8 target load and fire at a 2x2 piece of paper at 25 feet and 50, I would like to see how the pellets spread

I have patterned the stubby little thing and found that #7- 2 3/4" covers the pattern board at about 12 yds.( Board was about 30" x 5' 8" tall)
00 Buck 3" mag. (Federal) is all on the board but spread to 8"-10" at that same distance.
3" Winchester mag. slugs at 20yds were about 5" high and both shots were centered so I think next time I go to our private range up at the homestead I will try the same 3" mag. slugs from Winchester out to 25Yds or more till I find the POI meets my POA then will know what my limitations are. I will then switch to 2 3/4" slugs as the ones I fired last week were hefty in recoil lol !!!
This little shotgun is handy on walks or when we go mushroom picking with the neighbours. As a matter of fact my good neighbour has purchased one of these handy dandy beauties for himself from Wanstalls, I think the next time we are up there I'll ride over and we will both haul them out and have some fun at various ranges with various loads. If I remember to take the camera I might download some pics.
