8.5" Grizzly Mag eta? Ready to Order!!!

Anyone else find that the bead sight is a little low? Had to aim 9" lower to hit close to center of my target.

I don't think so, very first shot out of the gate from 20ish yards was more than impressed, the wad left a mark on the paper about 2.5-3 inches from the target. similar results from every other shot. but to each is their own.

Yea I had the same issue, so I added a 870 5" rail and a red dot reflex sight. Sighted it in and that did it.

It looks like it wouldn't take much to bolt a strap on the outside flat portion of the two end guards.
Like a Mossberg but wrapped around and secured horizontally into the plastic.... a knock off of Serbu's folding foreend would be the best though or even a Serbu itself if they were willing to sell them to us. Unfortunately they won't sell their forends to Canadians.
The strap looks like an easy quick fix.

Unfortunately what you have won't work with the current forestock.

The stock completely covers the mag tube end cap. When you look down at it you can see it completely inside the stock

If you bring the slide back enough to where the plate mount would sit the bolt is not in battery

Normally the plate would be a good idea but not with the molded forestock.

Now if you had a sliding stock that made the shotgun 661mm OAL that would be a good thing;)

Anyone know if I am able to move the bead sight higher or if I am able to replace it with something higher?

Attaching a pedestal for a bead or a ramped front sight looks like the only option. There are sights that will drop over the bead and use it as an anchor with epoxy.

Do these guns come with the rail like the tube model?

It take it that is a No.
Here's another dumb yet easy to answer question.
Are they drilled and tapped?

Yes they are. They have two tapped holes, just as the 8.5 tube fed. A good question is where to get a rail that fit those holes.

Could more people post on the reliability of the detachable mag? A couple years ago I went through a long time of trial and error to get a couple of the 12.5 and 15" ones to feed reliably. Never...ever seen one complete a match without an issue. Wondering if they are better now.

Thanks Brutus,
That's interesting, I wonder why they didn't include the rail like on the tube model?
I'd start with CanadaAmmo.....it sure would be nice if the Chinese would just drill the mounting holes with a standard 870 pattern so 870 rails would work out of the box.

I receive mine today. It is normal that the two hole in the top of the receiver does'nt have the screw ? My other 12.5'' have it.

It also has a Wingmaster steel follower. So if you change the follower, remove the nibs/dimples and change end cap you are good to go. I tried to get this thing to missfeed or jam by going as fast as I could but ran like a top.

This is how it looks....

OR just buy our mag follower and no need to remove the dimples

Simon it was was all done by the guy I bought it from. He was a machinist. Did a great job deburring/polishing. Otherwise I definitely would have bought one of your followers as I have had great success with them in my other shotguns.
