Took the 8.5 out to the range again today and decided to really test it out. 25 slugs down range and after some playing with a sight picture I was consistently hitting within 4 inches at 15-20 yards. Not perfect, but definitely good enough for a bear gun.
the XS sights work great!!!...highly reccommend them. As far as mounting it back a bit far, that is the only option because of the barrell keeper on the front that attaches it to the mag tube....you have to mount it behind as the band is too wide to put it ahead...and will stick out past the barrell. on the rear sight, simply drill/tap holes for the sight screws provided....easy to line up holes with the reference lines machined into receiver top
the xs sights are very accurate with slugs, and are a very good product. I got mine at TSE, but from what i was told by bonesteel arms on the phone(in the states) that come OCT 1st that the us gov't is relaxing their regulations, and going to allow gun parts to be shipped to canada under 500.00 (instead of 100.00) plus be a little more open on what you can ship from the states. So wait till oct 1 then order them from brownell's, because they seem to be kinda hard to find locally......
