8 ga hulls

There are reports of 8ga industrial kiln gun shells. But these have sort of a double thickness head to keep them out of shotguns.
 
Yes. They fire a heavy zinc slug. But I have heard of the cases being reworked for shotguns.

Winchester sells a 3oz lead slug as well as some lead buckshot. I could only imagine the recoil. Good to know that the kiln gun cases are useable. They seem to fire those things as fast as they can.

It's said the initial three ounce load immediately killed closest rider. And mortally wounded the second rider behind the first. The three riders fled but the wounded one quickly demised. The other two bandits left rather swiftly to never return.
