8 round revolvers???

i'd need to look it up again, but I seem to remember there being nothing wrong with shooting an 8 round revolver in production...

For the revolver division, you can shoot an 8 round revolver but it must be reloaded after 6 rounds.

For Production, I don't see why you can't use it. The question is why you would want to because the reload would be so much slower.

You can shoot a 7 or 8 round revolver in Revolver Standard Division but must do a reload after the sixth round. Anything more will incur a procedural penalty. The reason is to level the playing field.

That's not to say that you can't shoot a 7 or 8 round revolver in Open, Standard or Production but the appropriate division rules would apply.

Sounds like a new market niche opportunity for someone to pick up and run with.

Well down here.. the main reason for a 627 is to attend the International Revolver Championships in Morro Bay, California. Last year we had several people from Australia, I think Germany, not sure about Canada, and a few other places I can't remember right now. ICORE is the name of the game, it isa combination of Bianchi, Steel challenge, and IPSC meant primarily for revolvers.

Rob Leatham shot it last year for the first time and shot High Limited. Jerry M has shot it almost every year and is always the top overall shooter. I shot it last year with a 6 shooter(610) and placed 24th in Limited and 68th overall in a field of nearly 200 shooters. I'm hoping to do better this year. We utilize the NRA D1 tombstone target and the scoring method is Time Plus. Certain stages have the X ring scored as -1, A is 0, B is +1, C is +2, Miss is +5. You add your hits to your total time so shooting fast doesn't neccesarily make you better, A's are what you want. Check out www.icore.org for more info. We are holding the ICORE South West Regional in Richmond, California in April 2007.

Yes...you can shoot an 8 round revolver in Prod...

Barrel length is limited to 5" for Production so the 8shooter would have to be 5" or less factory produced.

Cheers
