80% Lowers?

80 lowers were deemed prohibited years ago because one could manufactured it into a full auto lower for some reason. however a 0% lower could still be manufactured by one presently if I am not mistaken as the ban only stops the transfer and sale of a finished recievers. I must caution you that manufacturing a lower is an absolute pita, lots of tooling and time are involved. I was starting to pick up tooling to take one of these projects on but looking like I will never have an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of my labour so eff it......

80 % lowers are now prohibs? Or are they still restricted? How about 70% lowers, or 0 % lowers, i.e. a forging?

At one point, for a very short period of time they were NR and were't serialized. That was stopped real fast. Don't ask if anyone owns any of these!

The 80% handguns went restricted the 80% AR's went prohib cuz you could machine them out to a full auto lower. No law just SFSS opinion that they are intended to be made into full receivers and as such are deemed by them to be receivers

AR-15 80% are considered by the RCMP to be prohib, its the RCMP's OPINION that they can be easily made into M16 lowers and thus are M16 lowers. So basically no one sells them out of fear of losing their business but it has not been tried in court.

Forgings at this time are non firearms, DLASK has uppers and lowers from time to time.

They made them prohibited because you could machine it to be full auto, but can’t you do that to a semi receiver that you already had. They went far out of their way on that one and probably because they new that the AR,s were going the way of prohibition. This is where we are today and I believe they knew what was coming and they didn’t want us going out and making a bunch of these when Bill C71 came into effect. At least that’s my conspiracy theory ;)

No matter what excuse they gave, the one and only reason was that they felt people were completing them and not registering them. And no matter what we say, that’s pretty much true.

Would still attract attention.

Like if you buy a 80% kit, I feel like it's the kind of stuff to put you on a list.

What I mean by that, is that is ''suspicious''

You are already on the list, you are a conservative, PAL holder etc etc. They want you gone.
