80% Lowers?

80 % lowers are now prohibs? Or are they still restricted? How about 70% lowers, or 0 % lowers, i.e. a forging?

Status technically unknown, but no idiots to test it. RCMP made a decision one day that they are prohibited. So, nobody would import them or talk about it. Hot potato made of lava.

At one point, for a very short period of time they were NR and were't serialized. That was stopped real fast. Don't ask if anyone owns any of these!

It wasn’t a short period of time. These were available for years. RCMP arbitrarily reclassified as prohib as they were “easily modified” to full auto which is ludicrous. It’s much easier to modify a 100% lower.

Some were showing up in the hands of criminals and obviously weren’t registered.

the only definition of an 80 % receiver I can find is the U.S. based A.T.F. I can not find an R.C.M.P. based definition. My understanding is Canadian Customs stopped importation of them.

Do they not need a ruling on why they will not green light importation?

Would the RCMP then not need to define what it is they are restricting?
