I have been looking around for load data for the 80gr Amax for my .223 but thus far I am unable to locate any. My Lyman manual only has the 75gr Amax, and the Hodgdon online manual only shows 80gr SIE MK. As I am new to reloading, I figured I'd ask here and not mess around without exact data.

Thanks for any help

Go to the hogdon powder site. They have loads there you could use any 80gn bullet load in the book, doesn't matter if it is sierra, hornady or Berger. The loads listed is a start. You may want to check out this thread http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=783590 and use it as reference it is good stuff.

I'm personally using 24.6gn of varget seated .010 off the lands. Shooting a 26" Shilen sssm bull barrel.

Thank you very much!

I kind of assumed I could use the data for the other 80gr bullets as a start point, but being new to reloading, I am hesitant to go on assumption.

im also using varget,

Look into a OAL gauge and comparators, use it with your calipers, I use the average of ten measured bullets to get my average OAL, then i seat accordingly to it . One of the best tools any precision reloader should have IMO.
