I had been looking for this powder, since a range member recommended it. Turns out reliable had a bunch on sale. I’ve got 6 pounds coming and not sure where to start.

I've got 175 smk, gm210m and FC or Lapua brass.

I have been using 4064 lately with good luck(1/2" at 100m). But would like to squeeze more out of my 700 5r 24" rifle.

Anyone else using this powder?

No I don't have any of this but I'm getting the same results from IMR 4895 178 A-max, Win brass and LRP. I too have the 5R 24" and would be interested in shrinking my groups if possible. Curious to hear of any results also.

Used it for years when I had rifles, M1A / Mini 14, 30-30, etc
After the 1st pound, I never looked back. Best damn rifle powder I ever used.
Keep telling people to try it.
Temperature seemed to make no difference.

From what I understood, it's based on an older benchrest powder.

Thanks tod,

Thats a great help. I'll run a ladder test with .2 gr spread I suppose? Starting at 38.6 to 42.4? I think I'll wait until I get my labradar before doing this. Then again I can't even pick up the powder until thursday.

Keep us posted, be curious to see what you think.

I'd go in 1% increments, .4grs

I'm using this powder with my LMT 308 with great success . I haven't tried 175s yet but this my load.

168 SMK
CCI primer
42.5 gr 8208 XBR
Seated to mag length

The barrel is 18" and I've only shot out to 800 meters

It was getting dark, tried to do a ladder test at 100m (didn't want to walk out to 200, huge puddle of water and quicksand ish sand) but they all made a decent group. I could barely tell the difference between the rounds? They varied by 200 fps though. I had the lower loads too, but did them as a group of 5. Was going to do the same with rest, but it was getting dark and my barrel was still very hot.

I bought one from Amazon.ca 20$ shipped via prime. I used it for 3 hours yesterday, still showing full charge. I tried using regular AA duracell professional ones (Pro-Cell?), after about 40 minutes it showed 1 bar less.

If i could go back I would have bought this one instead. An extra 1600 mAh for 3$ more, and smaller size too.

I figured I'd post my results of ladder test, not quite sure what the heck it means but I did it.

Shots 1-12 are in 0.4 gr increments from 38.6gr to 42.6gr at 200m.
