I was just cleaning out the gun case and came across the cleaning kit that comes with the rifle, I never paid much attention to it until I was ready to throw it out.

I'm guessing that they are meant to keep debrie out of the barrel but I can only imagine how many Kabooms they created in the past... I sure as hell wouldn't trust myself using one :D

is that what they are used for? does anyone use them ?

It is used to create back pressure so the bolt works and the next blank is loaded - I believe-

AFAIK, this is correct.
Without the bullet there isn't enough pressure to cycle the bolt, placing the cap over the muzzle increases the pressure in the barrel for long enough to accomplish this.

ahh cool, thanks for explaining

I guess i'll pitch it out now, unless someone wants it.... blanks probably cost more than real ammo in this country!

Hey, do any of you guys use the little oil can that attaches to the cleaning rod for actually holding oil? I don't because I thought it would leak. It looks like it has a fabric seal of some sort?

Some interesting trivia

A pal from the Czech army told me the oil can was used to hold oil mixed with cigarette ash. The paste was thought to be more abrasive for cleaning the bore.

Yes i use the oil can and no leak at all. In fact i only use the cleaning kit that come with the rifle to clean it, work perfect! However, i buy a second cleaning kit to have additionnal cleaning rod section for the longer barrel of the non-restricted cz858.
