I recently put some new czech factory wood furniture on my 858 as well as new sights.

I'm running a rear peep sight, nea front rail nea fiber optic front sight and rest czech factory wood.

Well I went to go shoot it recently and was disappointed, after maybe 10 rounds the pin for the lower handguard was almost right out of the rifle with just an 1/8 inch of it left in the slot. I punched it back in and took one more shot and it flew right out and the lower hg came off in my hand....

I grabbed the pin, brought the rifle back to the table and looked at it. The new fiber optic front sight had loosened as well almost a half a turn on that last shot. The new lower handguard is either too short or my pin is too worn down (I've fired this gun maybe 100 times lol)

I need some help please, I can take pictures of whatever you guys want just let me know.

I used a flat head screw driver to spread it the same amount as factory and then a dab of lock tight once at the required height.

Replace your pin with a roll pin of the same length.

This ^ works great!

Actually I was impatient to find the proper length, so I just bought a longer one, then cut it down with a hacksaw! Haven't had a problem yet. Keeps it very secure, yet easy to pop out for cleaning.

x3 on the wood/fh screwdriver and hammer method. Once spread the same as the factory post it wont come loose. I lightly oiled the threads to prevent corrosion, loctite is not necessary
