They should really crack down on all those high end sniper systems, because you know
when somoeone owns 3 or 4; $7000+ super high end sniper rifles, it's definetly to cause trouble...maybe rob a variety store or bank, those .338 lapuua rounds have to come in handy somewhere!

Here's an article from 2007- it's about Lib's freaking out about how the 858 (among other rifles) are non-restricted even tho they look scary. And the RCMP saying "but it's not an AK, so it's not illegal".
Relax, the RCMP said in writing that this gun is not an AK variant so just go buy one. Besides even if they do try- the more people who have them, the harder it will be to take them away.

If the dealers do know this and are still selling people these firearms knowing that they are going be prohib them.
You would think there would be some kind of legal ramifications if that was the case.
I really do not think our firearm dealers would do that, if they knew this info most likely they would pull the rifle from the shelf or face the ugly backlash.

Except the 858 sells itself. There is no need to precipitate a sale on the spot like that. For them to prohibit the 858 would be a reclassification, and the CPC has assured us many times, in writing and in committee that is NOT going to happen. I'm sure the RCMP have been notified too. The Ap80 was a nasty dirty finesse.
Keep in mind that Wendy wants all semi-autos banned, as a start. So get as many as you can afford, and send them an email, or tweet, every time you buy one.

Ok, so I go into my local gunshop looking for the usual deals (ammo, red dot etc.) and spot a nice CZ 858 with a folding stock. While I'm looking at it, the guy behind the counter pops his 0.02 cents in and says "you're not actually thinking of buying that are you? You know it's gonna be a prohib in a couple months once the registry gets tanked..."
I asked right away, where he was getting his intel (I'm a skeptic to say the least) and he says that he was told via RCMP to suspend and report all sales.
I inquired as to his source but got no definitive answers. Has anyone else heard this rumour (I actually told him to not spread this crap unless it was in writing, he claimed he got his info here on CGN!!!)
Is there any truth to his rumour or is this just hype? I know that Wendy and the CGC has has a real hard*&n for this platlform but this is the first I've heard of this.

ya what store was it i want to know too as ill never shop there either,just like one shop i went into in edmonton and the woman working the counter said she supported the registry ive never been back and its sad cause there a site sponser guess i should have let the owners know

To the OP I'd say just keep checking here on CGN, if there was any order to suspend sales a dealer would probably post the letter shortly after reading it.
Not to mention if there was an order to suspend sales why the hell was the rifle still on the rack?
If gun-store tards are to be trusted 7.62x39 was banned three years ago just before I bought my SKS....... That being one of the many stupid things I along with others have heard in gunstores.
