Hi. I've been admiring the 858s for years, and I'm just thinking about getting one for myself lately. Now I see the CZs are apparently sold out. Awesome, I love it when that happens.:redface: I'm looking for the non restricted version, folder or non folder, if anybody happens to know where one is available... (aside from on the EE for inflated prices:))

So maybe the VZ 58 is the only real option in the short to medium term. If that's the case, exactly how much more does the CSA rifle weigh over the CZ rifle? If anyone has two to compare side-by-side, then great. If not, would you please post up the measured weight of your bone-stock rifles? If I get a couple of measurements with the same barrel length and stock type, I should be able to determine the difference due to the receiver.

Thanks!

Edit: okay, so some of the EE offerings are good deals after all the add-ons are figured in, but I just want a bone-stock version!

I have a 858 i think its a little lighter than the vz58. vz58 has a little thicker receiver. i don't think you can tell the diff in weight. there both around 7 pounds i think. id weigh mine but it has parts on it.

You cant tell the weight difference when you pick the rifles up. At least I can't so in reality you shouldn't be too concerned about this. Now what you should be concerned about is how many crates on ammo you have and how many your girlfriend will let you have. I am pushing the limits and I just ordered one more but that's a secret crate I'll have to hide or I'm in trouble

I have both. The fit and finish on the CSA is better, but both are sweet rigs. Can't go wrong either way. Oh yah, the CSA definitely weighs more, but not enough to really make a difference. My scale isn't accurate enough to get an exact weight difference.

Its seems lately there's been a lot of post about problems with the vz58's but i don't hear much about the cz858 having problems. seems csa are having quality issues.

Don't ever under estimate the light weight and great short range punch this bad boys posses. Now will they shoot as far as a basic M14 no. Will they shoot as flat as a AR15 no. But then again an AR15 is a short range rifle meaning 300 meters or less kill shots are highly probable and the M14 is 600 meters but hell when it come to weight well the proof is in the pictures;
