Good point, I also think there's a link to the Quebec politician shooting a year ago but maybe that's just me.
 
I think that if they come out with one in .308, it will be too much for the platform. That will stretch the platform to its limits much like the FAL did - perhaps even moreso.
 
I know the 958 is going to be a much better rifle than the cz-858, because the number is bigger. Technically, the 958 is 100 bigger than the 858, so I would say it's bound to be that much better. Mathematically, I think it's safe to assume it will be 111% the rifle the Cz-858 was. I would like to be first on the pre-order list, and will start the nagging questions now, in anticipation of this revolutionary firearm in the best caliber ever!

Will quad rails be available?
How are they for lefties?
Do you have a plan to supply a .22lr adapter?
What colour choices do we have?
I heard that the RCMP is trying to ban them, is this true?

On a serious note......I think Wolverine said they may post some details up in a few weeks. I hope it is in x39 since the ammo is nicely priced.
 
Glad I bought an 858 a number of years ago. It's a really great fun all around firearm. Cheap to shoot, handles well and looks neat. It's a shame the BS going on to keep more from coming in. It's a great firearm. I prefer the regular 7.62x39 over the 223 types etc that have come in the last few years. Sort of wishing I'd bought a second one now.

How about the gas tube and piston? Are they Chrome too?
I heard the supply of x39 is drying up, will it have a .223 adapter?
Will magpulls work on the 958 mags?
How are these mags pinned?

I love mine. Shoot it every chance I get. Unfortunately, the range I belong to is hostile to steel case ammo, so it's pretty much a crown land gun for me.

Yeah same here , would be nice to have a "new" unfired one!

My 858 had a gremlin once, I just re tension the sear spring and I never gad a problem since; it took one minute.

....could 958 be the new BREN cz?

I 100% agree.... unless tge Czech military drop the bren .... but that's a farfech possibly... so we might be looking at a re-branding ie: cavalier and sunfire...
