This might already be out there, but I'll try it anyway. I have a 16" barrel on my 870, factory unit with the rifle sights and the ever painfull law enforcement top folder stock. I got it as it makes a nice unit for packing as a bush backup, very compact indeed.

The other day I saw a Sage telescoping stock and am curious about the rascall. With the Rem factory folder, I'm 2 mm over the minimum firearm length, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with this Sage stock and, if it was still a legal combo for this barrel length. At least it has a regular recoil pad on the back. Wishfull thinking or practical project? Any one with some experience in this realm, please let me know. Thanks much.

you can use the sage stock and a 14ic barrle its long enough.
if you use the dlask 12.5inc barrle you will need to weld on stop plate to make sure the stock dont get to short.
i,m intrested in selling my sage stock so pm me if intrested.

Well A friend of mine may have one or two for sale. I'll have to ask him to dig them up. As for a compact package, with a 14" barrel and Sage stock that is the smallest legal combination you can get in this country!!! I planned to use mine as a "pack" type/leave in the trunk shotgun but haven't found a lockable mount for this type of setup. As for shooting experiences, it is a great stock, or at least in the configuration I have it in now. I orginally tried it with the factory bead sight and found it a bit punishing being so low to the stock rails but with an optical setup it's great! I can shoot slugs all day with it. The only draw back it has is that the butt stock may have the tendency to swivel around. I am in the process of making up a latch for it so it locks in place when "deployed" and depress the latch when you want to stow it. What I have here may seem a bit heavy but it absorbs a lot of the recoil and really is handy when retracted. I may have a lot of "Junk" on it but its sturdy and its my "Swiss Army" of shotguns. BTW, yes I know, I am missing the folding front sight...
