I have a 20g 870 from when I first started with goose hunting. This stock has cracked, I've looked for replacement stocks but have only found stocks that specify 12g.

Will 12g 870 stocks fit the 20g, if not where can I find a replacement. Including the forend. Laminate, wood, synthetic is my order of preference.

12ga will not fit and it is going to be hard to find a 20ga forend.

What will fit is any remington stock off a 760, 7600, 7400 or 742 and of course 20ga express or wingmaster

A 12 gauge stock might fit on your 20 gauge depending how old it is. Early 20gauge 870s were built on a 12 gauge frame. Look at the back end of the barrel where it enters the receiver. if the barrel goes straight out it's a 20 gauge frame. If however there's a noticeable taper in the barrel then it's a 12 gauge frame.

Either way Western Gun Parts in Edmonton should have replacement wood for both.

Thanks Claybuster forgot about those.
Remington 20 ga. guns, those with serial numbers ending in "K" or "U" are small frame and require a 20 ga. stock set. 20 ga. guns with serial numbers ending in "X" or "N" are large frame and require a 12 ga. stock set

The Remington stocks for 760.742 should fit. l just bought a Black Hawk collapsable that is designed for the 870 20 guage and most of their rifles as it didn't come with the forend l had to buy the Remington stock and forend which package said is replacement for the above.
