A while back I picked up a used Wingmaster 870 shorty here on the board. It came looking like this...
An 870 Wingmaster
12.5" Barrel with a Big dot night sight
Hogue Rubber forend
Right side Mesa tactical 4 shot holder
Happy face end cap
and S&J no jam follower

I really liked it but wanted to make it my own...
So off to various vendors websites I went, and shopping I did do!
First to arrive was a Magpul SGA stock in FDE, then an inexpensive Green Condor 2 point quick adjust sling, and a used forward sling plate i picked up used here on the EE..

Then I ordered a new Hogue forend in Ghillie tan so the drapes would match the curtains! ..... and also picked up a left side Mesa 4 round shot holder... the right just didnt work for me.

I like it! The tan and green is unique. I'm also a fan of the SGA, so I guess I might be a bit biased.

How do you like the big dot?

Looks like u painted the choke into the barrel. Might be a ##### to loosen depending on paint type. I agree a side saddle on the right is not right. Nice gun

yes... the paper i used to wad the end of the barrel wasn't full coverage. Its minimal overspray and has been removed now with some thinner. I've yet to locate a choke wrench to try to remove it...... I don't expect it to be to much of an issue...... hopefully......

Spent the day yesterday jet boating up a fairly local remote BC river fishing for trout. It was a good day... burned a 100L of fuel.
Anyways....... I Was able to carry it, and work the bugs out of my carry system when out on the flow. I have built this shorty to be a fishing and bush gun to be its primary use. So far I am very pleased. Slings well and holds tight with a small pack on and without....
Heres some scenery shots.....

I've got a question: what's the deal with carrying the slugs in the side holder, upside down? Is that to make extracting them easier? Looks like they'd be more likely to drop out, that way.

For a combat reload, you reach over the top and grab the first one to throw directly into the chamber then fill the tube with the rest of shells from grabbing underneath.

where did you find the fore end? really like the looks of it

Direct from Hogue grips... It's the rubber overmolded forend and the colour is called Ghillie Tan. Super grippy rubber, and they come in all sorts of colours and camo patterns.....

Exactly as Skoal describes how the combat style reload works. The shells wont fall from the side saddle. The friction holding them in has been reliable.

Nice looking 870!!!
I REALLY like the look of the XS sight! I thought it was bulkier looking but it looks PERFECT!!! Gonna have to figure out how to get one on my 870!!
