870 cantilever fasteners?

On a rifled 870 barrel with cantilever mount:
- besides the two Allen head screws, what is holding the cantilever rail to the barrel?
Is there a contact cement or glue used between the two surfaces, along with the two screws?

Most often the screws will be thread locked( with lock tight type compounds) the mount must fit the receiver contours ( not rock or move ) its up to the screws to keep it in place . The screws should be tighten with a tork wench to the manufacturers specific amounts . If the mount is original to the gun and was factory installed there shouldn't be any Issues with its reliability. Design for heavy recoil from the company.only one shure way to find out is to dismantle it ,you will have to use the right driver bits or you will bugger the heads, hole new can of worms . I have a Hastings cantilever barrel for an 870 .... and the cantilever seems to be soldered or welded onto the barrel ..... no screws!

There is no loctite on the screws, there is an adhesive or cement of some sort beneath the surface.
Does anyone know what it is?
