Hello all,

Can anyone tell me who sells the 870 Classic Trap in Kanadia?

Thanks,

BT

any Remington dealer can order one, and they go for around $950  . (alot of $$ for a monte carlo stock);)

I was told by my local shop that they would not be available in canada till the new remington shipment comes in, july sometime I was quoted.

corlanes sporting goods is going to bring me one in.

Thanks for the replies.

At $950 I'm better off getting a used one. I saw one today at the club and it was a beautiful 870 in excellent condition (very well-maintained).

No monte-carlo stock though.

good idea, you could get a regular synthetic 870 with 28 or 30" barrel and buy a monte carlo buttstock for $50 and have all of $400 into it, brand new.

The 870 trap is basically a wingmaster with fancy grain and the monte carlo. nice gun, but $$$. used usually go for $450 - $500.

blargon,

Very good point. However I would do that with a Wingmaster and not an Express. The brand new Wingmasters go for $600+ here in Montreal.

At $950 I'm actually bettr off getting the Remington 1100 G3 that just came out and that is soldfor $936 at LeBaron's. That is one beautifully made shotgun.

Thanks for all the input,

One HUGE difference between the trap guns versus the Express guns is the barrel. The 870 traps come with the light contour barrel.

The 1100 G3 is not a trap gun and you probaly will not get a monte stock to match that wood. If you are going to try to make a trap gun from a wingmaster for $600, you might as well buy the trap version and get the resale value too.

Claybuster / Jacky:

No relation to DT10 Sam or Cara Outdoors in Burlington ( about an hour and a half away - perhaps other than we both really like our "Tridents" - and I'd guess Sam's would be a Trap gun, or Trap Combo, while mine is a very early 32" Sporter that was imported out of Europe - it has a number of differenences to current production Sporters ! )

The 870 Classic Trap is indeed a good Trap gun for the money ... my very first round of Trap was shot ( I think about a hundred years ago ... Ha ! )with a Remington 870TC Trap ... a real Classic. Have since owned a TC and an 1100TB Trap and a couple of Model 12 Trap guns ... if you like the pumps ( and I do ) you won't go far wrong with the Remington.
