Okay I figured it out. From constant wracking of the slide the metal on the chamber where the rim if the shell sits was kind if squished and out of place. This was causing the shells to get wedged in there by the rim. So I filed it out a bit and now it works. Afterwords I polished up the chamber a bit too for good measure.
