Anyone know where to find a new Ejector for an 870 express? Not the spring. But the portion that houses the spring?

Here's a link to what it should look like:

This is what mine looks like:

If you re going to replace it, you will also need front and rear rivets, and you may as well replace the spring while you are at it. It will also involve re finishing the gun. The front rivet is stepped, the first step is to secure the housing, and the second step secures the spring. Brownells sells everything you need including the specialised punches. Almost any gunsmith should have them. You could also give Casey at Tacord a call, he specialises in 870's. You may also want to ask how much to do the job, since the punches come to about 50 bucks if I recall. It's a 20 minute job tops once you know how, but can be a pain the first time you do it. If it isn't affecting locating your barrel, and everything works, you may just want to leave it too

Unfortunately it is affecting how the shotgun functions. Spent rounds get caught on the top broken area, and I'm unable to cycle rounds. And now the barrel is flopping around like crazy; hence why and how I found out this issue was present. Thanks!

As for refinishing the gun, are you meaning on the exterior of the firearm? If so that's fine because I have a shell carrier mounted to that side. This thing is beat up and abused. Just the way I like my guns.

When you replace the rivets, they will be visible on the outside of the gun. This is purely cosmetic, so if it doesn't bother you it isn't an issue. You will of course have to drill the old rivets out in order to do the job

Gravel Agency (site sponsor) is the authorized master distributor for Remington in Canada. I found them great to deal with lots of stock and more than fair pricing and shipping.

Tactical Ordnance, Inc., in Newmarket, ON (casey@tacord.com), replaces them all the time. A couple of specialty tools are required to do it right.

Cheers!

That actual item is the Ejector. Do as Mtrpdw says...contact Tac-Ord. One the pins get popped out, and the new ejector installed, the new pins will sit proud of the receiver on the outside and will need to be either milled down/stoned or filed. if you are ok with the tool marks then nothing else needs to be done...it will look very rough though.
