870 Express/Express Magnum

Ok, just got an 870 express receiver - It does not say Magnum on it, but it cycles 3 inch shells. The barrels I have can take 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. What I dont want to do is whack myself if the receiver isnt built for 3 inch shells. How can I tell? Serial number ends with M... does that mean anything?

M means magnum, AOK for 3"

Your good to go!!! By the way.......M does not stand for magnum...it's reference to the original extractor!!!!!!!

OK I should have said M 'corresponds' to Magnum receiver (fitted with the 3" ejector, the receivers are the same otherwise).
